The first month is free!
The Theta Collective is an online twice-weekly group meditation that harnesses the power of live, rhythmic drumming to entrain our brainwaves into the profoundly healing, meditative state called Theta. All you have to do is show up and relax as I drum.
what is it
how does it work
Finding the time to maintain a meditation practice can be hard. The Theta Collective is designed for people with all levels of experience to access a deep meditative state effortlessly and regularly, even on a tight schedule.
We meet online every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 8am EST (7am CST) for 30 minutes. The first month is free. After that, the price is $40 per month. The subscription can be canceled at any time. If this price does not feel comfortable for you, just email me — I get it.
Why does it work
Theta is a deep meditative state which is profoundly transformative and healing. The benefits of meditation and Theta itself have been widely cited by researchers, yet finding this state can be tricky until you're familiar with it. That's why we're leveraging two powerful tools in the Theta Collective.
Entrainment: By playing the drum at a specific speed, I entrain our brainwaves to the slower Theta-state. That means all you have to do is relax and be present — that's it. Entrainment is a natural process by which two rhythms come into sync with each other. Shamans have been using it for tens of thousands of years to enter trance states and access deep insight and healing. Our container is simply meditative, but magic can happen if you are open to it.
The group itself: Group meditation has been shown to induce deeper and more profound experiences than solo meditation. The reason is unclear, though I would suggest it is due to the field which we create together. We can create this unified field, even in geographically dispersed locations.
The Theta Collective is perfect for all skill levels, even if you've never meditated before — in fact, it's a great way for beginners to train their brains to find Theta.
With that said, if you have a history of epilepsy, I strongly advise against taking part, as we will be using repetitive rhythms to work with your brainwaves. Use your discretion and listen to your body — it knows what's best for you.
who is it for
I'm James — co-founder of reHuman, embodiment educator, researcher, drummer, human.
I've been drumming for 28 years. I've always used the drum for self-healing (even when I didn't realize it) and, for the last three years, I've been helping others come home to themselves through rhythm and movement. I have guided thousands of people in drum-led meditations and journeys all over the U.S., and now I'm launching this remote collective to make the practice more accessible.
